When starting a business you may not be familiar with all the terms that are being used. It happens to all of us at one point as well. Marketing and branding are two terms that can be confusing when you are trying to figure out a strategy. You need both marketing and branding for your business. They are two different things but they are both equally important when it comes to bringing in costumers. There’s a difference between marketing and branding but they both serve the same purpose for your business and its success. Marketing is focused on finding a way to communicate with your audience to develop and promote a product or service that meets their needs. Branding is a way of identifying your business or your promise to your customer. Think about it like this marketing is a campaign. Branding is your company image. Some tasks that are focused in marketing include: campaigns, strategy, SEO, content marketing and creation, etc. Some tasks that are focused in branding include: who you are as a company, logos, colors, aesthetic, personality, etc. If you don’t push both together then there won’t be any kind of traction in your business. When you push marketing and branding together something happens which is word of mouth marketing. Word of mouth marketing is the best thing because your customers will share their positive feeling about your business to their friends which will bring in new customers to your business. Understanding marketing and branding may be difficult at first but once you put the two together, there will be great results for your business. As a reminder, marketing drives the sales and branding is what drives recognition and loyalty. At Advertise It, we strongly believe that marketing is the most important in the beginning. Branding is important once you’ve established a marketing plan. However, it is always important to push both!
